Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a bowl,
mix 2 cups flour, 1 tbls. baking powder & 1/2 tsp. salt. Add 4 tbls. soft
butter to flour mixture and blend by hand. Add milk to flour mixture, stirring
with spoon until a ball forms. Start light kneading. Turn out on floured board
and knead briefly. Press and roll to 1/2” thick. Cut into 2” circles or any shape
you choose. Knead the remnant and and cut into quarters. Bake on ungreased baking
sheet. Makes approx.12 biscuits. OPTION: Add 1/2 tsp. ground mustard & 1/4
cup grated chedder cheese to flour and sprinkle with additional grated cheese
before baking.
